Review by Robert Kenchington British Music Critic "Well, I have heard Joseph Lerner's Capriccio for Viola today and can report that it is a very enjoyable and interesting work. It has plenty of dramatic immediacy and certainly makes the most of the neglected solo capacity of the viola. It is a very Brahmsian work in places, a kind of 'theme and variation' movement with lots of exciting syncopations and rhythmic cross-currents." Mr. Kenchington is a British classical music critic who has been freelancing for Gramophone, the BBC Music Magazine and The Good CD Guide, specializing in the Austro-German symphonic repertoire. He, in the past, has interviewed conductors such as Sir Georg Solti and Sir Colin Davis.
